A late mid-life desire to learn to play the piano coincided with my discovery of a knight upright piano looking sad and gathering dust in The Borders auction saleroom. My bid accepted and my 52 year old piano delivered home on a trailer towed by tractor, some tender loving care and a good tuning was definitely required. A call to Ross Markham ensured both were provided. Along with regular playing lessons, too. Ross takes pride in his work and is as pleased as I am with the end result of his tuning and my shining knight is a great sounding Instrument which he still maintains for me four years on. My early years of learning may not do justice to such a quality piano. It certainly sounds so much better when Ross is at the keyboard. But, who knows, with Ross's continued endeavours I may one day achieve my ambition to accompany the very excellent pianist who plays for patients in the Chaplaincy at Borders Hospital on Sunday mornings!

It was purely through very good luck that we came to know Ross having looked in the local directory. Having shipped my parents piano over from Canada, Ross set about having it completely refurbished whilst we were away on holiday. We came back to a beautifully and sensitively restored piano that still kept the charm of the piano and of course sounded fantastic.
